About Me

I have more than a quarter-century of experience writing and editing for publications across Canada and the United States. My writing portfolio includes magazine articles on a broad range of topics, from mining to retailing to snow grooming. I’ve also reviewed more than 35 books for the Winnipeg Free Press and edited association magazines in underground construction, facility management and other subject areas.

After earning a journalism degree at the University of Regina, I worked as a reporter, photographer and editor for newspapers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ontario. I entered the freelance market in 2006 as an independent writer and editor based in Winnipeg; I am now happily based in a city on the north shore of Lake Superior.

I believe a good writer engages the reader and communicates ideas clearly. An editor should pursue the same objectives while always respecting each author’s style.

I am a member of Editors Canada and ACES: The Society for Editing.
