ABOUT ME

I have 30 years’ experience writing and editing for publications across Canada and the United States. My writing portfolio includes articles on a broad range of topics, from mining to books to snow grooming.

Since earning a journalism degree from the University of Regina, I have worked as a reporter, photographer and editor for newspapers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ontario. I entered the freelance market in 2006 as an independent writer and editor based in Winnipeg; I am now happily based in a city on the north shore of Lake Superior.

Past editing assignments include (as managing editor for a publisher of association magazines) scores of magazines in school facilities management, underground construction, turf management and other subjects. I consider no project too small, though, and have offered proofreading and editing of resumes and application letters as well

I believe a good writer engages the reader and communicates ideas clearly. An editor should pursue the same objectives while always respecting each author’s style.

I am a member of ACES: The Society for Editing.
